| Ho un'amico spagnolo che mi ha detto che tale Leon Sanchez della Liberty Seguros è un buon cronomen e un giovane molto forte e sarà al via al Tour de France. Qualcuno lo conosce?....evete idea se Nozal sarà al Tour de France? [Modificato il 21/01/2008 alle 18:18 by Monsieur 40%]

Leon Sanchez è insieme a Contador una grande speranza del ciclismo spagnolo. Nozal mi sa che per ora è fermo per ematocrito alto...non credo che lo porteranno al tour...sempre che non venga reintegrato nella squadra come già successo a Nuno Ribeiro

Ha vinto il tour Down Under e Paride Grillo mi ha detto che andava fortissimo. Anche il suo compagno Scarponi mi ha parlato un gran bene di questo ragazzo (classe 1984 mi pare!)

Per quello che so io, è un cronoman. All'inizio dell'anno, dopo il successo al Tour Down Under, si parlava di "nuovo Indurain", ma credo che il paragone sia improponibile.
Non avendo ancora fatto veder nulla in salita, non sembrerebbe un corridore da corse a tappe.
E' ancora molto giovane, ma per ora mi sembra "solo" un ottimo cronoman.
Tra i giovani spagnoli della Liberty, Contador, che è maggiore di un anno, è di un'altra categoria.

Se Manolo ha persono definitvamente la testa...lo porterà al Tour ma è pazzesco mandare al Tour a un ragazzo cosi giovane quando c'e un squadrone( teoricamente) come la Liberty.
Ribeiro non è stato reintegrato alla squadra, ha firmato per la L.A- lIBERTy( antica L-A pecol) dove correva l'anno scorso vincendo il Giro di Portogallo.
Nozal tornerà sicuro al Liberty dopo il licenziamento del dottore della squadra, alberto Garay.
PEr quanto riguarda a Luis Leon, Io penso che puo essere un buon corridore di classiche ma non di grandi giri...penso che in salita non va bene per vincere. A me piace molto di piu Alberto contador.

concordo sul fatto che portare un ragazzino al Tour sia un pò azzardato, però su www.cycling4all.com mi sembra che sia incluso nella prelista dei partenti....e non mi stupirei se il buon manolo...avesse perso il senno.Contador l'ho visto in tv e sembra un corridore di sicuro avvenire...pedala agile in salita ed è abbastanza potente a crono. Questo Leon Sanchez francamente....mai visto....non so neanche come è fatto..

anche io credo che il buon Leon Sanchez Gil,dominatore assoluto del Down Under,prima corsa della stagione,sia ancora un pò acerbo per fare una corsa tiratissima e di ben tre settimane come il Tour,dove anche Contador,che considero fortissimo,come d'altronde ha già ampiamente dimostrato,mi sorprenderà nn poco se riuscirà ad esserlo anche dopo quasi dieci giorni di pianura corsi a ritmi e medie folli,anche se in cuor mio ci spero veramente!
però è vero pure che la defezione di Nozal(che se verrà rintegrato farà perdere nn poca credibilità allo squadrone di Saiz,già più volte beccato con corridori dai valori fuori norma...)lascia aperto uno buco importante nelle idee di Saiz per la gran boucle,che già avrà i suoi bei problemi nel valutare che anche i capitani disegnati Heras e Beloki son ben lontani dalla condzione migliore,insomma considerando che la Liberty aveva portato al Giro una formazione di tutto rispetto con corridori come Koldo Gil,Hruska,Scarponi,Caruso etc. nn sarà facile trovare un corridore dalle caratteristiche di ottimo cronoman come Nozal,e fresco da esser competitivo anche per il Tour!
insomma nn dico una scelta obbligata,ma quasi..... ____________________

Da comunicato ufficiale Caisse d'Epargne un'intervista (trilingue as usual) con Luis León Sánchez.
Ganador del Tour Down Under en su primera participación en el 2005 y segundo en el 2006, el murciano Luis León Sánchez, liderará junto con otro murciano, José Joaquím Rojas, el equipo español Caisse d’Epargne en la primera carrera ProTour de la temporada 2008.
¿Como juzgas tu temporada 2007 ? ¿Te quedaste contento con tus resultados o esperabas algo más ?
“ Empecé muy bien en Mallorca, donde me llevé la clasificación final de la Challenge, y luego en la París-Niza con una bonita victoria de etapa. Luego tuve la mala suerte de ponerme enfermo unos días antes de la París-Roubaix, lo que no me permitió rendir al nivel esperado. Me costó recuperarme y a pesar de entrenar bien, no fue suficiente para entrar en la selección que iba al Tour de Francia. No me desanimé y me preparé bien para la Vuelta a España pero cogé un virus en vísperas de la salida en Vigo, lo que hipotecó mi carrera. Por consiguiente, si tengo que hacer un balance, diría que el 2007, mi tercera temporada como profesional, ha tenido sus buenos y sus malos momentos. Creo que lo más importante ha sido la experiencia acumulada, la cual me ayuda cada día a crecer como corredor. Espero que la salud me respeterá más en el 2008.”
¿Como preparaste la temporada 2008?
“Comencé más tarde de los otros años a entrenar, pero ya me siento bastante bien. Vamos a ver como me sale todo en Australia. Hemos llegado con más de una semana de adelanto para tener la posibilidad de entrenar con excelentes condiciones climáticas y eso me ha permitido continuar mi preparación de la mejor manera posible. Tengo muchas ganas de volver a competir.
¿Cual va a ser tu programa y con cuales ambiciones vas a empezar el año?
“Tras volver a Europa, tomaré parte en un primer tiempo en el Tour del Mediterraneo, la Vuelta a la Comunidad Valenciana y la París-Niza, que me hace mucha ilusión. El año pasado me encontré muy bien, lo que me permitió ganar una etapa. Espero repitir este año y si me encuentro bien, disputar la general. Más tarde, participaré en las clásicas del Norte. Después de un período de descanso tendría que volver a competir en la Dauphiné Libéré para prepararme para el Tour. Espero estar en buena condición para estar en el equipo de la ronda gala y ayudar a mi equipo.”
No es tu primera participación en el Tour Down Under. Tienes allí un recuerdo muy bonito…. ¿Esperas repitir?
“ Esta va a ser mi tercera participación. El primer año, el 2005, tuve la suerte de conseguir el primer lugar de la clasificación general final y el año siguiente, hice segundo. Es verdad que es un recuerdo muy bonito, pero por no estar al cien por cien todavía, creo que esta vez estaré un poco justo para aspirar a un triunfo.”

Comment juges-tu ta saison 2007 ? Es-tu satisfait des résultats obtenus ou espérais-tu quelque chose de plus ?
“ J’ai très bien débuté à Majorque, où j’ai remporté le classement final du Challenge, et ensuite à Paris-Nice avec une jolie victoire d’étape. Ensuite, j’ai eu la malchance de tomber malade quelques jours avant Paris-Roubaix, ce qui ne m’a permis d’évoluer au niveau souhaité. Cela a pris du temps avant je ne me remette vraiment sur pied et malgré le fait de m’être bien entraîné, cela n’a pas été suffisant pour faire partie du groupe de coureurs sélectionnés pour faire partie de l’équipe qui allait au Tour de France. Je ne me suis néanmoins pas découragé et je me suis bien préparé pour le Tour d’Espagne, mais j’ai attrapé un virus à la veille du départ de Vigo, ce qui a considérablement hypothéqué ma course. Par conséquent, si je dois dresser un bilan, je dirais que 2007, ma troisième saison chez les professionnels, a eu ses bons comme ses mauvais moments. Je crois que le plus important a été l’expérience supplémentaire accumulée au cours de cette année, laquelle m’aide chaque jour à grandir comme coureur. Pour 2008, j’espère ne pas connaître d’ennuis de santé.”
Comment as-tu préparé la saison 2008?
“J’ai commencé à m’entraîner plus tard que les autres années, mais je me sens déjà assez bien. Nous verrons comment je vais me débrouiller en Australie. Nous sommes arrivés avec plus d’une semaine d’avance afin de profiter des excellentes conditions climatiques pour pouvoir nous entraîner. Cela m’a permis de continuer ma préparation de la meilleure façon qui soit. J’ai vraiment très envie de reprendre la compétition !”
Quel sera ton programme et avec quelles ambitions commenceras-tu l’année?
“En rentrant en Europe, je participerai dans un premier temps au Tour de la Méditerranée, au Tour de la Communauté de Valence et à Paris-Nice, une course qui me fait rêver. L’année dernière je m’y suis senti très bien, ce qui m’a permis de remporter une étape. J’espère pouvoir faire la même chose cette année et, si tout se déroule bien, pouvoir lutter pour le général. Plus tard je m’alignerai dans les classiques du Nord. Après une période de repos, je reviendrai à la compétition à l’occasion du Dauphiné Libéré afin de me préparer pour le Tour. J’espère être en suffisamment bonne condition pour être retenu pour la Grande Boucle afin d’y travailler pour mon équipe.”
Ce n’est pas ta première participation au Tour Down Under. Tu as là-bas de beaux souvenirs…. Espères-tu remettre ça ?
“Il va s’agir de ma troisième participation. La première année, en 2005, j’ai eu la chance de remporter le classement général final et l’année suivante, j’ai terminé à la deuxième place. C’est exact que c’est un très beau souvenir, mais n’étant cette année pas encore à cent pour cent, je crois que je serai un peu trop juste pour prétendre à un triomphe.”

How do you judge your season 2007? Are you satisfied with the results you get or did you expect something more?
“I started very well in Majorca by winning the final classification of the Challenge, and later in Paris-Nice I won a beautiful stage. After that I was unlucky and a few days before Paris-Roubaix I was really sick, which did not enable me to ride at the level I wished to. It took time before I completely recovered and in spite of the fact that I tried as well as possible, that was not sufficient to form part of the group of riders selected to be in the team for the Tour de France. I nevertheless never lost hope and I prepared well for the Vuelta, but I was the victim of a virus on the eve of the start in Vigo, which did not allow me to be at the level I had to be during those three weeks. Consequently, if I must draw up an assessment I would say that 2007, my third season as a professional rider, had some good but also some bad moments. I believe that the most important thing to remember is the additional experience I accumulate during this year, which helps to become every day a better rider. As for 2008, I hope to be well!”
How did you prepare the season 2008?
“I started to train later than the years before, but I feel already rather well. We will see what I am able to do in Australia. We arrived more than one week in advance in order to benefit from the excellent weather and train in the best conditions. That enabled me to continue my preparation the best possible way. I am really hungry for competing again!”
Which will be your program and with which ambitions will you start the season?
“After being back in Europe, I will in a first time take part in the Mediterranean Tour and then in the Tour of Valencia before moving to the start of Paris-Nice, a race which makes me dream. Last year I felt very well during that race, which enabled me to win a stage. I hope to be able to realize the same this year and also to fight for the general classification. Later I will participate in Paris-Roubaix and the Flemish Classics. After a period of rest, I will start competing again on the occasion of the Dauphiné Libéré in order to prepare for the Tour. I hope to be in sufficiently good condition to be selected for the Grande Boucle in order to achieve a great job for my team.”
This is not your first participation in the Tour Down Under. You have very beautiful memories…. Do you hope to win again?
“This will be my third participation. The first year, in 2005, I was lucky enough to win the final general classification and the following year, I finished the second. It is indeed a very beautiful memory but this time for not being 100% in condition yet, I believe that it will not be possible for me to aspire to a victory.”

IN THE MEDITERRANEAN TOUR
Things are very clear to Luis León Sánchez. Paris-Nice is the first important objective of his season 2008. After he started racing in the Australian Tour Down Under Australian and participating in the first stage of the Challenge of Mallorca, the rider from Murcia will prepare himself in the Mediterranean Tour, which starts today with a stage in line disputed between La Crau and Hyères upon the distance of 120 kilometres.
How was the Australian experience? How did you recover?
"I was very please to go to Australia one more time because in the past I get some good results over there. This time, we were not able to win something but I believe that this journey has been an excellent preparation for the first part of the season. I did not train too hard since I am back in Spain, preferring to accumulate kilometres but last Sunday in the first stage of the Challenge of Mallorca, I felt much better than I would have though, and that is of good forecasts for Paris-Nice."
Will you try to win the Mediterranean Tour or do consider you this race only as a preparation for Paris-Nice?
"My condition is good, but it is a fact that I still have to improve. It is true that I regard this race as a preparation more than like an objective, but I will nevertheless try to be ahead, in particular in the stage of the Mont Faron. I believe that if I am well in this stage, then it is not impossible to go for the general classification. But there are other riders the team which are able to do something great, particularly Iván Gutiérrez, who won the race in 2007 and who is used to do very well in this race."
Does Paris-Nice remain the objective n°1 of your season?
"Yes, it is in any case the one of the first part of my season. Now we have to wait and see how the race will unfold. Last year I did not prepare myself as well as this season and things went very well for me. I hope that it will not be the case, but this time, the contrary could occur. This is cycling: it is almost impossible to predict how a race will be. What is certain, it is that I am very motivated and that I hope, even if the general classification is out of reach, to win at least one stage as I did in 2007."
